The famous detective Charlie Croc is on another exciting case!
I really love this image. It’s one of the few times I’ve been able to draw ol’ Croc in color. Charlie Croc is, of course, the star of one of my webcomics over at Crazy Cal Presents. If you want to read his action packed story, check out http://crazycal.com/?p=49
PIGS!!

I seem to be drawing a lot of pigs these days. Here’s a very muddy pig, happily sitting in a mud puddle.
Speaking of Pigs, I just recieved a copy of “It’s Not Just for Breakfast Anymore” by PV Lundqvist with cover art by yours truly. It’s the story of a young boy and his pet pig. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I’m looking forward to it. You can get your own copy on Amazon…
A speaking of pig books (there’s a theme to this blog post) don’t forget to check out the book I wrote. “The Wolf and Pig Report” is my retelling of the story of the three little pigs. Did you know the real reason the house of sticks was built or why the big bad wolf terrorized pigs in the first place? My book tells all. Well, actually, you won’t learn any real facts, but it’s funny and full of my illustrations as well. You can find it on Amazon and Lulu.com

Flying through Space

The Great Space Race. Who will get to Mars first?
The guy piloting the rocket on the top left is Crazy Cal. He’s best known as the host of my comic website, Crazy Cal Presents. If you like my illustrations, you’ll probably like that as well, so please check it out!
Sitting Idle

With her wrist broken, Sally couldn’t do anything but sit idly and stare blankly out the window.
This illustration is a bit of a stretch for me, I don’t usually do anything this geometric.
Sorry that I’ve been really slow in updating this blog lately. I’ve been busy with a variety of projects. If you need a more regular dose of my work, please check out my web-comic at www.crazycal.com I think you’ll like it!
hierarchy

Here’s a look at the food chain in action. Some fisherman is going to get a much larger catch than he expects.
It’s been forever since I posted anything on this blog, sorry about that. Various projects have gotten in my way recently. I’m ready to announce one of those projects: Crazy Cal Presents. It’s a new web-comic drawn by myself that will tell a variety of humorous stories. A new page is up every Monday, so I hope you check it out.
Design Flaws

Professor Sigfried Nembellson was a great inventor, but all of his robots seemed to have design flaws.
In other news, I still have a few 2009 Calendars available, and I’ve dropped the price. So if you still don’t have a 2009 Calendar, or you just want a copy of my illustrations, click here.
Climbing

Thomas gripped his pickax tightly as he struggled to catch his breath. Matilda took her chance and became the first person to scale Mt. Trevar.
Like much of my recent work, this illustration was done with a combination of pen and ink, acrylic paint, and digital adjustments.
Balloon

The cross-country balloon trip got off to a terrible start. Silas T. Reinberg held on for dear life as Samantha and her brother Wesley dangled precariously in the air.
I did line art for this illustration some time ago, but finally colored it a few weeks ago. It’s one of my favorite pieces, so much so that I used it as the cover for my new 2009 Calendar. (If you’re interested in the calendar, click the banner at the top of the page.)
Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween, everyone! Here we see good ol’ Frank merrily skipping down the lane, past the vacant house and the desolate cemetery.
In other news, I’m in the process of putting together a 2009 calendar with some of my illustrations on it. I’ll be selling a limited number online. If you’re interested, check back in a few weeks and I should have everything ready then.
The Island in COLOR!

A little later than promised, but here is the Island drawing in glorious color!
