“Cap’n! We’ve done it! We’ve discovered Bluebeard’s treasure!”
OK, so it’s a bit of a stretch for “discovery,” but I really felt like drawing pirates.
I was looking over some old illustrations lately, and came across a piece I did a just a few years ago: The Space Farm.
I remember at the time thinking that it was one of the best pieces I had done. I still love the utter randomness of the concept and the composition isn’t bad, but I’m surprised at how raw my drawing was.

So I decided to redraw the illustration completely.
As you can tell, I kept the composition mostly unchanged and kept the colors close to what they had been before. Beyond that, I don’t even think the two look like the work of the same person. I guess this means I’m progressing as an artist, or something…
Here is my latest drawing for Illustration Friday— the first in the New Blog.
So may I present to you three “geeky” kids— geniuses who might not be outcasts in the high school they attend but who are destined to change the world.
Hi. This is my first official blog post ever. In the weeks to come, I’ll be posting some of my latest sketches and art and whatever else is laying around. So check back often.
