The Submarine

sub

One of my goals for the New Year is to produce more un-commissioned artwork. To stretch myself some and draw the sorts of things that are different from the stuff I’m paid to illustrate. And so, today I drew this highly impractical submarine. Like last weeks Guardian, this was drawn in pen and ink with no real planning beforehand.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Identical

I think it’s been nearly a year since I’ve done an Illustration Friday drawing. I’ve been so busy. And since it’s Thursday, I guess I’ve been busy this week as well. Anyway, here’s a little something for you to look at:

This piece was done primarily with a size 0 Rapidograph pen, the smallest one I own. It measures 6×4.

PIGS!!

I seem to be drawing a lot of pigs these days. Here’s a very muddy pig, happily sitting in a mud puddle.

Speaking of Pigs, I just recieved a copy of “It’s Not Just for Breakfast Anymore” by PV Lundqvist with cover art by yours truly. It’s the story of a young boy and his pet pig. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I’m looking forward to it. You can get your own copy on Amazon…

A speaking of pig books (there’s a theme to this blog post) don’t forget to check out the book I wrote. “The Wolf and Pig Report” is my retelling of the story of the three little pigs.  Did you know the real reason the house of sticks was built or why the big bad wolf terrorized pigs in the first place?  My book tells all.  Well, actually, you won’t learn any real facts, but it’s funny and full of my illustrations as well.  You can find it on Amazon and Lulu.com
