Happy Halloween, everyone! Here we see good ol’ Frank merrily skipping down the lane, past the vacant house and the desolate cemetery.
In other news, I’m in the process of putting together a 2009 calendar with some of my illustrations on it. I’ll be selling a limited number online. If you’re interested, check back in a few weeks and I should have everything ready then.
Crosswalk

Here’s a little something I did recently…
Something Different: The Castle

As an artist, I’m always trying to stretch myself, I like to find new ways to do things. For this image, I wanted to do something different than my usual illustration. So I built the castle out of cardboard and photographed it. The hand-drawn characters were inserted into the image using Photoshop. This was significantly more time consuming than I expected it to be, but I think I got a great image out of it. What do you think?
The Island in COLOR!

A little later than promised, but here is the Island drawing in glorious color!
Island

After 3 months trapped on the island, Captain Samuel O’Thomas was finally rescued. Only then did he discoiver he was half a mile from the coast.
This image will look a lot more interesting once I get the chance to color it. Check back later this week for the colored version.
Sailing

Here’s another attempt at my new combination painting and digital coloring technique. I think it worked out pretty well.
In other news, I just put some of my work on Imagekind.com which sells high quality prints of artists’ work. So if you want one of my images on your wall, check it out…
Poof!

In a puff of smoke, Magic Melvin the Magnificent appeared on stage. The audience cheered, it was an amazing feat. Unfortunately, it was also the only trick Melvin could remember. Melvin stood frozen on stage for the next fifteen minutes, as he struggled to remember even the simplest card trick. Finally, he disappeared in another puff of smoke and the show was over.
This drawing was done in ink, marker, and colored pencil with finsihing touches done digitally in Photoshop.
Canned

Carl is canned from Captain’s Carp Canning company.
Captain Asterion: The Comic!

A few months back, I drew an 8 page comic as a proposal for a series. The proposal wasn’t picked up, so I decided to stick it on-line and share it with the world. So click over here and check it out. I hope you like it…
Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

Here’s another test of my new technique using real paints as opposed to digital. I did do a fair amount of digital touch ups on this, though.
